In July of 2019 I arrived in Moab, Utah to participate in two builds with the Non-Profit organization Community Rebuilds while they attempted their first ‘Living Building Challenge’. The organization exists to provide affordable and sustainable home ownership to the local workforce, along with a natural building education for the homeowners and interns. While I had previously worked on many aspects of different styles of construction, I was excited to participate in a foundation to finish project based around natural building, that was also attempting to fulfill the strict requirements of the Living Future Institutes LBC program.
